Not that selfish

by Guilty By Design   Nov 11, 2019

I look in the mirror
I see the reflection of a ghost
I ask myself what I’m doing here
Where’s the person I used to know?
Listen now, I’m not afraid to die
I’d be down to go but I’ll never try
Mama, I’m sorry for the things I put you through
Papa, I’m sorry I’m just exactly like you
I know this is something y’all will never understand
I can’t explain the thoughts I have
I’m alive but I feel like I’m barely breathing
For y’all I’ll gasp until my heart stops beating.

Surviving for the sake of others is perhaps one of the most selfless acts. So no, 'not that selfish' at all.

    Take care
