A Better Day than Yesterday

by Glenn G   Nov 20, 2019

I could hear your eyes talking to me
From across the room
I could feel the wha-boomp, wha-boomp
Of your heart as it shook the floor in perfect rhythm
My body shivered every time you licked that ice cream cone
I read your tattoo on your back, like it was a best selling novel, "Hot, handle with caution."
When I arrived home, the lack of your presence made me realize just how lonely I am.
You revived my life and I don't know your name
My doctor gives me medicine for my health and I don't know the name of those either
Who cares about a name when something makes you feel better
I'm just going to call you "A better day than yesterday."
