Language

by Tanya Southey   Nov 23, 2019

Let me take words
and paint you a picture;

The topsoil of my faith
is shallow and lacking in nutrients;
The candles, the hope,
the meaning I used to hang
my heart on, eroded by the flood;
The emotions that spilled
from the peaks and rushed
down the valley
dislodging the boulders
of confidence,
the ones that knew
exactly how the world worked.

Let me give you the reset
and using the same words
show you the power of language.

The emotions have spilled
from the mountains and
rivers have coursed through
valleys I had no idea existed.
Boulders of understanding
remain upright
and yet these waters have
deepened the topsoil of my faith
bringing down nourishment from on high

I have no idea how the universe
comes together

Me, the speck in the ocean of stars.

    Interesting read. I'm still figuring it out, but I really enjoy the imagery.

      It's really how the same words can lift you up or bring you down if you put them in a different order or with different intention...thanks for reading it and thinking about it :)
