The Week Between Pages

by Tanya Southey   Feb 18, 2020

The robust reality,
mundane hours slip
and roll in succession,
drifting days
claim hours,
a week suddenly gone

There’s peace in normality

But I require
escape into fantasy,
days unlike mine
in a place beyond time;
deep in a book,
far from my life
the colours emerge
in words black and white.
