Earth Cry For Help

by Walter   May 3, 2020

Fire turns to ash

Water becoming steam

Clouds will start to form

Together they will team

Thunder begins to roar

Lightning fills the sky

Rain drops start to fall

And soak the ground once dry

Seeds begin to sprout

Roots first start to grow

Stems then growing out

In search of the suns glow

The leaves they open up

And soak up all the light

Branches stretching out

Reaching for great height

Animals introduced

And slowly they fit in

Life begins to flourish

The Earth now starts to grin

Proud of its creation

The rarity of life

Which needs to be so balanced

To keep it out of strife

The Earth now getting old

4.5 billion years

It thinks it needs some help

To ease up all its fears

Earth introduces man

The highest life form yet

In the hope that he will help

Whenever there's a threat

But something went so wrong

Man wasn't any use

He was meant to assist

Instead he caused abuse

Because he always took

Much more than what he needs

The Earth got slowly worse

Feeding all his greed

Man destroying trees

That the Earth first made

Now no longer balanced

Its atmosphere decayed

Man now hunting life

All the animals that live

He seems to take it all

But never does he give

Man now goes to war

He seems so unrefined

He can't even get along

With only his own kind

The Earth now truly shocked

This is how it's repaid

And forever now regrets

That man was ever made

Cutting poem, Walter. I like the formatting of this too - every line is reinforced by it.
