An Old Fashioned Love Story

So many love stories already have been told
That maybe mine won't even behold
Often you'll see a love that is so sweet
Which makes you wonder just how did they meet?

I know these two with whom fit the bill
Now they're true lovers but at first was uphill
Her heart had been crushed from a man before
She didn't want anyone to come knocking on her door

She didn't care for looks and dressed so casually
And made sure a sad face was all that they could see
She was always distant and avoided the crowds
Never to let anyone hurt her again she vowed

But there was a man who spotted her from afar
Saw past all her hurt she wears just like a scar
Despite however much she tried to disguise
The man saw her beauty when he looked into her eyes

She was oblivious and nor did she look
Refusing to give but now only took
The man however was not put off despite
She had tried everything to keep out of sight

He walked up to her and paused by her side
She didn't even slow and just denied
And as he waited she didn't turn around
He knew he had to try something more profound

He watched as she walked into a coffee shop
Made her way up to the balcony on top
So just beneath he had made his way
And thought about the words that he was going to say

At that moment he had caught her eye
While standing there alone and looking shy
Instantly her look turned to a frown
She saw the same man again while looking down

But he quickly acted before he could think
Automatically executing his first instinct
Removed a red rose from the flower bed
And climbed up the balcony to her up ahead

She was taken aback and let out a sigh
An emotion she felt that didn't make her cry
For the first time for her it had been a long while
And finally it was a stranger that brought out a smile

She then asked him why do you follow me?
Can't you see I'm hurt and look so desperately?
He said on the outside it's all a disguise
Because I can see you're beautiful when I look into your eyes

Now maybe this story you won't believe
But it's all about your actions and what they'll achieve
They might not be as literal or on the same scale
But if you make them romantic then I'm sure love will prevail
