Perfect Strangers

by Walter   Jul 14, 2020

Just like perfect strangers
Caught in each others stare
A smile confirms the kindness
As we become aware

Although at a distance
My eyes find you so fast
Your looks will always stand out
Even in a crowd so vast

And as my feet follow
A path leads straight to you
My heart is beating faster
From what I now pursue

As I'm getting closer
I now no longer rush
We pause in front of each other
I see you slightly blush

My arms for you wide open
As if to let you in
And there's no hesitation
For this now to begin

But no we're not strangers
For so long we've been a pair
And this a chance encounter
That still makes me aware

As when I first met you
Now so many years ago
You still have the same effect on me
And my love will only grow

I loved this romantic piece. I feel exactly the same when I see my husband. You never get tired of seeing their face. Very well written. Milly x
