The Colours of Love

by Walter   Jul 23, 2020

As on the day when we met
A blank canvas on easel stand
Our first steps made together
Just as Cupid had planned

Faint lines appearing on canvas
And shown so light and grey
Crisscrossing in all directions
The paths we made would display

At first we never ventured too far
But slowly our walks would stretch
And now will show on the canvas
A straight line it would sketch

This represents the horizon
We watch the sunset holding hands
Blue paint is added for the ocean
And yellow for the sand

Next we drive to the mountains
A picnic on luscious grass
Green paint is splashed on canvas
And beige for champagne in glass

Now we're both slowly walking
Romancing under full moon light
Black paint is added for the night sky
And for the glowing moon we have white

Slowing to face each other
And now we no longer tread
Our first kiss so amazing
On the canvas shown as red

Our painting finally filled
And most call it abstract art
But for us symbolizing our love
And painted with both our hearts
