Cat Named Cotton

by Aiko (Dreamsurfer)   Jul 27, 2020

I'm not a huge pet person,
But before I was 11 years old,
We owned an all-white cat I adored.
It was so clean that we allowed it on our sofas.
Cotton would only pee in the bathroom,
Dig a hole outside and bury its poop.
I had never seen anything like that before.
One day, it started deteriorating in activity,
Its eyes sunk inwards,
Cotton died in our toilet.
The family blamed neighbours for poisoning it.
I was given the task of burying it.
Using a digger, I carried it to the rubbish dump.
It was one of the saddest moments in my childhood.
