I Could Never Forget

by Walter   Aug 19, 2020

I could whisper words I love you
But this you already know
Although your skin still reacts
The way in which you glow

I could write you my thoughts
Within a lovely card
And you will also display this one
With the others you don't discard

I could take you out to dinner
Where we dine by candle light
Even though at home we share our meals
This way every night

I could bring you to the movies
To a show screened in advance
Yet on the sofa we're more relaxed
To watch our favourites in romance

I could ask the live band
To play your most loved song
Even though we already have the album
And can play it all night long

Although all done before
For you I would never refuse
As I still love to do all these things
Than think of an excuse

You still deserve the best
As on that day we were meant to meet
And no matter where I'm reminded each time
We're standing feet to feet

Lovely Walter...its the little extra you put into a relationship that adds to it. Sure, you do these things at home but you still make the time to do these extras. My husband and I have dates, it might be breakfast at our local Coney before we go grocery shopping.

Thanks Brenda...and yes all the little extras do seem to add up to a whole lot more. I think we should never stop doing all these things which helped us fall in love in the first place. And what better way to start the day with a breakfast date!...sounds perfect.
