Dichotomy

I want you and
I don't -
I need you
and I need more space,
inexplicably.
Somewhere in all this
sticky stuff - it feels like tar -
I think I lost
my coat.

I'm shivering.

Congratulations on the win. This one I hear you very much and relate.

The admission in the last two lines that you're shivering speaks volumes here... the contrast and things we may not understand about love, how do we move forward when we need both things that can't exist at the same time or in the same space? The image of tar and then "I think I lost my coat" were powerful. Simple, but powerful. I also took "coat" to have more depth, not just the literal definition, also what protects your heart. Those layers, not only material. Congrats on the win!
