Cupid's Arrow

This is a love story about Simon and Yvette
One day they'll fall in love but it hasn't happened yet
Cupid has foreseen it and they'll make a perfect pair
And happily ever after a loving life they both will share

But love is never easy and doesn't always go this way
No matter what Cupid tried neither of them would sway
His arrows didn't work or maybe he'd just miss
And a loving life would never start unless they first both kiss

Then one day it happened, he managed to make them meet
When they bumped into each other on a corner of two streets
First apologies which then slowly turned to smiles
Cupid became happy and no longer in denial

After talking for some time and suddenly feeling daring
Simon asked her out for coffee hoping they'd be pairing
But Yvette said "Oh I'm sorry, but I am running late
And I just don't have the time to go out on any date"

Simon was upset and Cupid was just shocked
His magic wasn't working even when love knocked
But he would not give up and made sure again they'll meet
This time in a supermarket where they both will greet

Now in the same aisle and spotting what they need
Seeing that only one was left they moved at increased speed
On opposite ends and soon they'll start to race
And bump once again before they'd recognized each face

"Oh hello again! What a coincidence that we're here
But this time it's a pumpkin that seems to draw us near"
Suddenly Yvette felt daring and now she wanted most
To invite Simon over as she is cooking roast

But Simon said "Oh I'm sorry but I'm making pumpkin pie
Though the pastry is all made, I'll just modify
I'll let you have the pumpkin, be my guest please
I'll just change the filling over to spinach and cheese"

Now Yvette was upset and Cupid would nearly faint
Was there anything he could do to make these two acquaint?
He thought long and hard while they ate their own dinner
And finally thought of a plan that's bound to be a winner

You see Simon and Yvette both go walking after food
The pastry shop on that corner has them in the mood
Meeting once again, eying the last Churro stick
But there's nothing else they like or either one would pick

This was Cupid's plan as both of them would stare
Once again smiling but now agreed to share
Eating from each end, eyes closed in total bliss
And neither realising in the middle they would kiss...

I enjoyed the journey you took to get Simon and Yvette to their kiss. A lovely climax.

Thanks Mr. Darcy and when it's meant to be, true love or Cupid will find a way!
