Unplanned Guilt

by nouriguess   May 29, 2021

Regret has the size
of our empty family house.

It sticks with my interrupted
sleep, the way stretch marks do
with the belly skin of
a grieving mother.

He lost you too, but he was not
the one who vomited fear away.

I regret having you.
I regret letting you go.
