A Letter to Time

by Everlasting   Jun 30, 2021

Dear reader,

I often times ponder about life and I also wonder about time, and even many other times, I have pondered and wondered if life truly has a time, or if time has a life? have you ever thought about that? What if time has a life? and life really does have a time? I know, this sounds like an erratic season in my life affected my reasoning, but this is important, reader.

I feel like time has a life because every given second that elapses, elapses while I am alive, and each given second elapses to give life to someone else, and no...

giving life isn't just about bringing a child to this earth, giving life is also cheering people up. It's lifting them up from the floor. It's raising them up whenever we can. And yes, time has a life, a life that I can't keep alive because it's draining slowly with the passing of the time. It's draining slowly while giving away the time of my life not the life of my time.

I failed miserably, how can anyone give life to someone else, if the life in that anyone is fading? how can anyone stand up for others when this anyone can't even stand up for her persona.

This is me, reader, this is I, a repetitive person who tries to be understood but wishes to not be understood just to be understood, but to truly be understood in all the sense of the word, understood? This is me, someone who doesn't know how to write in prose, someone who wishes to write and to write and to never stop writing because this is who I am.

but you know something, I realized that time truly has a life, a life that is approaching its final time because this time has a life where life will end up being just time, and time will end up being not life so long as I continue giving life to time, so long as I continue counting time and never really giving life its time.

Every second, every minute, has a life, every hour that elapse has a life of its own, but if I continue focusing on those minutes and seconds, if I continue counting time, life will end up being just time.

and if this continues, reader, if this continues, time, will surely end up having a life

mine.

Don't give your life to time, rather give the life of your time to the people you love and care for.

Note: this was written for a contest a while back, prompt to write a letter expressing how one feels and who we are.

This was written about 7 years ago… or so. Someone just reminded me of it so I thought I post it.

If I were in the right mindset, I may cry after reading this! It’s so similar to something I’ve been thinking about lately. This is truly powerful Luce!
