Home Again

by Maple Tree   Aug 8, 2021

I am nothing without
whispers from the eastern
breezes, as dew drops fall
upon lashes; I reflect.

A morning dawn inspires
the innermost thoughts
to captivate a smile
as easily as bird song.

Gathering twigs from
a fallen solider, I commemorate
the mighty for its courage to
grant us shade in the worst of times.

Dare I say it " I'm at peace being home again"
and nothing is going to change
how I feel at this moment in time.
