When the Curtains Fall

If there is one wish that would be granted in my life,
It would be that I can re-write the script in this play.
In a parallel universe; I would be the main character
And I would be her happy ever after when the curtains fall.

But I must face reality that the producer,
Has given me the role of the side character.
My act is to make the male lead memorable,
And to make sure that I do not steal the show.

The female lead in this play is charming, beautiful and talented,
There is no question why the director casted her.
Because on stage she can portray a wide range of emotions,
And every time she performs she outshines the sun.

In this plot; the female lead found her prince,
And they go through difficult stages in life.
They separate for a while, but in the end
Fate would somehow bring them together.

A cliche ending to a story, but the audience loved it.
They took a bow and the spectators applaud.
The side characters stood there in the shadow
never noticed by the audience.

When we finished the production; we say our goodbye.
Maybe in my next job she and I will work together again.
Who knows maybe the script writer will decide,
That they want a plot twist in the end.

A story where the side character,
will take the spotlight when the curtains fall.
