Not all the way through

by Beautiful Tragedy   Oct 29, 2021

I’m only strong on the surface;
Not all the way through.
After a little over a year I am completely drained from hundreds of nights of fighting with you about things that are well;
The epitome of stupid.
You use your alcohol to get you by in life because you can’t deal with your own demons;
So you focus on the things from my past that you think should be mine and throw them in my face.
You bash and belittle every thing and every one in my life to make yourself feel better-
Does that make you feel better?
You can throw out the “truth” but we both know you only use it as a weapon and not simply because you think people should know the truth.
Your words are hateful and hurtful yet smoother than an obsidian blade cutting into skin;
And the wounds need to be stitched but you throw bandaids on them and call it a day before you slice deeper the next time you’re in a verbal surgery with me.
I take the wounds like a warrior before I cut back-
Only for you to act so wounded when I stabbed you once,
and you stabbed me sixty times.
But your incisions aren’t visible to the naked eye;
So Im only strong on the surface-
Not all the way through.
