Silent Sunrise

by Walter   Dec 16, 2021

Before I leave, before I go
There is something; you should know
The time will pass, no doubt it will
With daily chores, that we fulfill

For so long now, this day repeats
From waking up, in morning sheets
My eyes will focus, as they blink
We always seem, to do in sync

Your warmth I hunger, when it's cold
The way we reach, for skin to hold
Alarm bells silenced, with the snooze
A dreamlike state, for morning blues

A full day scheduled, up ahead
Will force us both out of bed
And corner sheets, we gently pull
To make our bed, no longer full

Breakfast made, while you dress
You take your time, but do impress
With smiling eyes, when we return
Yours say thanks and mine which yearn

A shower, shave and change of clothes
A mirror steamed, no longer shows
I have to leave, for I am late
But just for you, I choose to wait

Before I leave, before I go
In total silence, we still know
The way we say, 'I love you'
When simple words, will never do
