Silent Cries

by Walter   Jan 5, 2022

Each time you might fall
All broken and scarred
And your wings do not work
From hitting so hard

Although you might feel
That you can't go on
And to be at your lowest
Is where you belong

Let me pick up the pieces
By offering a hand
As small steps are needed
Before you can stand

I know you don't want to
I know you are hurt
But also know that you
Don't belong in the dirt

I'll promise I'll help you
Do whatever to rise
Of course it is hard
And will take a few tries

When we are level
Your wings I will mend
But for now they're not needed
For you to ascend

Things will get better
If only we try
But help will be needed
Before you can fly

A friendly reminder
To those who stand tall
When you see someone wounded
Please don't ignore
