Detours

by Walter   Apr 12, 2022

When you think, you've reached the end
Of the tether that you hold
When you want, to cross that line
That's marked so dark and bold

Just pause for now and take a breath
To let your thoughts set in
And think what you're, about to do
Before you do begin

Do you really think, that this will solve
Your problems that persists?
Do you really think, the way you'll act
Won't add to all your list?

I know it must, frustrate you
It happens all the time
But the mountain, in front of you
Won't pass until you climb

And obstacles, which you might face
That makes you mad and rave
Will only force you, to dig deep
What will become your grave

There's always another, path to chose
Where you don't have to stop
And slowly forward, steps you'll take
Will lead you to the top

Now suddenly, you're standing tall
The view is crystal clear
And all the problems, you once faced
Are far behind your rear

From here you can, choose your path
Before you do proceed
As long as you, hold your head high
You'll see where they all lead
