You don't love me anymore

by Wayne Gates   Apr 12, 2022

Old-style country

You don't love me anymore
So you walked out that door
Now I sit here all alone
Just waiting by the phone

I can't let the sunshine in
It reminds me of how it's been
Back when you were here
Those memories I can't bear

You don't love me anymore
I am hurting to the core
So I walk the halls and pace
Thoughts of sadness on your face

I don't like this life alone
If I only could atone
For pain, I put you through
So that we could start anew

But you don't love me anymore

      Thank you, Olwin.
I am trying to write poetry that could be a song.
It seems most people like songs more than poems.
