Terminal

by D.   May 23, 2022

Fields,
trees
blurs of green
tinted bloodshot
eyes - dead end
ahead

I want to sleep
to the hum
of the engine
to the rock
of the carriage
past my station
and wake up
somewhere else.

But it terminates
here. It always does.

And everything
in between
isn’t always
green.
