Land Of Truth Not Lies

by Shaun Cronick   Jul 8, 2022

I journey through a cruel world,
To my home of light and love.
So hastening on a quiet path,
Avoiding life's push and shove.

Anxiously will my heart surrender,
To that place of longing and stay.
So my eyes shall rest in slumber,
Casting doubts and sorrows away.

Vexed temptations all around me,
Fatuous things I dismiss away.
For I see the sunlight beaming,
On my abode of endless day.

Nothing there to be my captor,
Abuse and ails do pale and die.
Perfect peace shared by many,
Good friends to greet and glorify.

Welcoming sights and sounds,
As I dry my weeping eyes.
My sanctum of calm and bliss,
In a land of truth not lies.

In this haven lies sweet redemption,
A spirit whole that once was torn.
An inner peace will dwell within me,
So that a soul may be reborn.
