Her Cinder Path

by Shaun Cronick   Sep 16, 2023

Behind shuttered windows of her mind,
A spent candle that once burned bright.
Bygone musings wane now confined,
Enveloped within their shared benight.

Her cinder path with appendage seams,
Well worn between diminishing girth.
Bare testament to shipwrecked dreams,
Lie all consumed beneath deep earth.

Soul skies seep from blue to gray,
Of amour unbounded so long ago.
Ripe memories wither and decay,
Love's embers alas no more aglow.

Her cinder path that leads nowhere,
With plight of isolation imbued.
Of none left to love - none to care,
Full circle of silent solitude.
