Love Flames

A fire will not burn, without any fuel
And also with love, that follows this rule
But when I first saw you, the way you would shine
I couldn't imagine, a love more divine

When our paths crossed, beginning to talk
In new directions, which we would soon walk
We somehow knew, with thoughts that we'd share
That this newfound friendship, would lead us somewhere

The days would go on, our prints left behind
We climbed a high mountain, on paths that would wind
When reaching the top, on our highest peak
Where we finally found, what we both seek

Because love should be earned, when playing with fire
If it is fanned, it could end quite dire
As it's only found, when you search from within
And here we both felt, when love should begin

With all the sights, we shared our first kiss
Then just eyes for each other, the rest we would miss
And here we both found, a fuel that will burn
For igniting true love, which you must first earn

Love only works, with that first spark
From romantic journeys, which you embark
And finding this love, is hardest to claim
When you don't have the fuel, nor do have a flame
