Wishes

One day I'll wake up from
a deep sound sleep, stretch in my bed,
watch birds out the window, as my coffee brewer
flaunts the herbal aroma all over the
place.

I'll go for a morning jog, breathe in
the early breeze, follow the path of lilies
and let the sunshine wash over me.

One day, I'll scroll through my newsfeed
and it's only photos of happy
and safe people, discussing
which vacation spot is the cheapest, or
what insurance company they should use,
or why peas aren't growing in
their gardens.

One day, I'll lay down next to my lover,
read a book, kiss goodnight
and get a deep, sound sleep.
