I Only Have Eyes For You

by Walter   Mar 2, 2023

You remind me of the morning
Of when the sun would rise
But then I'd see a mirage
And know it's a disguise

You remind me of the water
Reflections of the lake
But then I'd see a ripple form
And know that they are fake

You remind me of the sky
The whole expanse in blue
But then I'd see stormy clouds
And know it isn't you

You remind me of the moon
Still glowing in the night
But when its phases disappear
I know it isn't right

You remind me of nothing else
And no more will I compare
Your gorgeous looks are never matched
For me to look elsewhere

    Walter,

you are truly brilliant at these types of poems. I am sure if I were to dissect you, I would likely find written through you, like a stick of rock, 'Wise Walter' - there's nothing fake about what we see here!

    Nice work.
