The Warmth I Craved (mirrored refrain)

by Kips2.0   Mar 15, 2023

The warmth I craved, I sought it so
In winter's chill and frost and snow
I searched for solace, found no glow
The warmth I craved, I sought it so

My heart so cold, my spirit low
I longed for love to heal and grow
To melt the ice and thaw the woe
My heart so cold, my spirit low

But all around me, bleak and slow
The bitter winds would howl and blow
No sign of spring, no buds to show
But all around me, bleak and slow

Yet in my soul, a flicker, though
A hope that refused to let go
That someday soon, the sun would glow
Yet in my soul, a flicker, though

And then one day, the warmth did show
The sun emerged, the melt did flow
My heart and soul, no longer low
And then one day, the warmth did show

The warmth I craved, it now aglow
In springtime's bloom, in nature's throw
A joy that fills my heart with crow
The warmth I craved, it now aglow.
