Flawed Perfection

Many are highly regarded in society,
Placed in esteemed positions,
But often, they falter, facing rapid demotions.

Once, I thought myself exceptional,
But then I realized such status is fleeting,
Maintaining it is key, any flaw can shatter it.

I was once praised for my intelligence,
I reveled in my accomplishments,
Yet now, I find myself unfulfilled,
Lost in what once seemed grand.

Long ago, I was told I was precious,
But it led to arrogance,
Taking me further from greatness.

Eventually, I realized my reliance on myself,
Which was my downfall.
Now, I live by faith alone.

It was Jesus' sacrifice on the cross
That granted me righteousness,
And turned my imperfection into wholeness.
