Before We Go

by Walter   Apr 26, 2023

When we're rushed for time
With the working weak ahead
When it's filled with chores
And timelines that we dread

When it's getting late
And I know I have to go
When I'm about to pass you
And suddenly I slow

I see you standing there
But you no longer move
If I would walk right past you
I'd know you won't approve

And I'm not feeling guilt
It's not the reason why I pause
But when I think of love
I know that it's the cause

It only takes a moment
Where we will barely blink
To hold you in my arms
Should be my instinct

Just to share a moment
And to look you in the eye
To slowly kiss your lips
Before we say goodbye

To whisper I will miss you
Is all that I can say
And in the space of seconds
I know you've made my day
