Evolutionary Paths

by Walter   Jun 8, 2023

We share just one same Earth
On which we all will stand
But claim it as our own
This subdivided land

Forgetting other species
Which were here before
Man is too important
To knock on any door

Now many years have passed
And look what it's become
A few will live in riches
And the rest will live in slums

When Earth admits it struggles
With man it can't compete
It has given many warnings
And soon will face defeat

It wonders why this species
Has too much greed to share
To consume all its resources
And leave the planet bare

A world as lush as ours
Is rare enough indeed
Once shared by all its creatures
Except this smartest breed
