Dear Little Pie

Taste so sweet
The way you bite
How you kiss
Soft as a lemon pie

I wish I had a recipe
Not for cake
Though to weight
Everything that's at stake -
Once more my heart on one side
On the other, the soft way you bite

Mesmerizing, I know, the way I'm mesmerized by your eyes
They shine bright as the skies
And look inviting like lemon pies
Will you heart invite me in, too
Or should I just stay comfortable at the door?
My heart's at stake once more

Taste so sour
The way you play with the wounds of my feelings
How you use your power
Before my cuts are done healing

Will your wounds invite me in, too
Or should I remain pleased by the outside
Where I can’t see more
Than a window of light
Radiating from your brilliant brain
My handsome guy?

Can't quite say what I need
I'm no doctor to define
Perhaps a tablespoon of your love
Wouldn't be that risky to try -
But then again, I'd have my heart on one side
On the other there's you, my bittersweet lemon pie

Take this note written delicately, like yourself or a lullaby,
To you, my dear little pie
