orange nights

by Star   Jan 4, 2024

what can I ask for, so the Night
would come to an absolute stop?
and what can I ask for, so the world
to embrace a moment of silence?

perhaps only then you will listen,
and realize that the silence you’re
listening to is not as quiet as it seems,

that the iron blares with every breath we take,

that simple is not as simple,
that red is not a color,
and gray is just a shade

that shadows these nights can
sense the smell in the air;

that an orange night is not an ordinary one.
