Dear Stranger

by Eddie Hoyte   Jan 21, 2024

To the luckiest soul, unknown to me,
Adrift in love's unpredictable sea.
In the shadows, I watch and sigh,
For the girl I adore is by your side.

Respect her, stranger, with gentle grace,
Hold her close in love's embrace.
Not all hearts can find such sweet delight,
In the dance of love, under the moonlight.

I lost myself in her enchanting gaze,
Yet, my words faltered in her love's maze.
Leaves me wondering, in your life so grand,
Do you feel the touch of fate's gentle hand?

Every second brighter, a princess's decree,
Her love, a gift, a jubilant key.
Do you ever sense a hint of sorrow's hue,
Or is joy the constant, in your world so true?

Deserving or not, in fate's curious twist,
She chose you, and elsewhere on love's list.
A hopeless heart still waits in the night,
To hear her words of love, a flicker of light.
