The Chalice Mends

by ddavidd   Jun 7, 2025

One day,
a flood of unsaid hearts
will rise from the hidden deep,
washing clean
the brick-clad towers
of all the said words.

One day,
Love,
in robes of wind and water,
will burst the dam
of ages-long silence.

And Truth,
startled by the echo
of its own stillness,
will flee the hollow throne
of solitude.

Then,
hearts once scattered
will mend,
a chalice reborn
to cradle the wild stems
of sunflowers,
tilting toward a sun
they’d forgotten
how to face.
