A milkshake

Something about bombs.
Something about death.
I'm not sure. It's not here.
At least for now.
So I don't care.

I worked for eleven hours today.
I would say I'm tired,
But I don't want to.
I would turn the news on.
But I don't want to.

Everyone is shouting,
But no one is talking.
Everyone is yelling loud,
What are they saying?

I got a milkshake,
From this one place.
They advertised it well.
It is not very delicious.
But it was expensive.

People are screaming
But we are sitting,
On the sideline
Smiling, and sipping.

And so I sip on my milkshake.
I wanted to spend my money on this,
And, so I did.
Tomorrow I will work more.
Buy another milkshake.

I sip and wait
For the end to come.
