Monopoly Man

by Evi   Nov 20, 2025

I had a dream of you again
You held my hand through places
I could feel your grip strengthen
Every time we passed big faces.

I made a wish as we walked
That maybe I could live without you.
But every thought I made you stopped
If I don't live for you, then who?

As you guided me
To build a house and a hotel
I fantasized being free
Outside of this hell.

At the prison I asked
Would you follow me inside?
At your denial, your face flushed
I finally found a place to hide.

And you threw onto me
Money shaped paper
It looked at me in panic.

But I still chose to flee
Ripped my hand out of yours,
and my wounds, I licked.
