A Thief Of Dreams

by Golden AnGel Rhapsodist   Jul 26, 2025

Starlight leaks through clouds that weep,
While shadows crawl and silence creep.

All the heavens, mute and grim,
Watch my soul grow dark and dim.
A fox's moan,so far, so raw
Waltzed with wind’s relentless claw.

It howled like ghosts that used to be,
In rhythm with the wreck of me.
The pebbles bit my bare, bruised feet,
Their kisses carved a cruel repeat.

My knees gave in to pulsing cries,
As moonlight pierced my hollow skies.
I heard the words drums my chest,
Like silk-wrapped blades that never rest.

Each syllable, a poisoned dart,
That plunders breath and breaks my heart.
A stanza lost, yet still it screams,
Of stolen hope and shattered dreams.

It echoes where my peace once slept,
And claws at what the silence kept.
Explain to me,how does one stand,
When dreams are snatched by someone’s hand?

A thief! You wore my trust like skin,
Then laughed while tearing me within.
It struck like pitch, so dark and wide,
A broken note I cannot hide.
It loops, it stings, it sings my ache
A lifeless dream I can’t remake.
