Somewhere between Love & Goodbye..

Love was the one thing
my heart could never hold,
and yet I have no blame
for the one I loved.

How do I tell you
that my heart is breaking,
when every piece of it
still whispers your name?

Perhaps love was never meant
to be ours forever-
perhaps we were only meant
to meet, to feel,
and to leave a little of ourselves
behind in each other.

So how do I say goodbye
when my soul still reaches for you?
How do I turn away
when every memory
still pulls me back?

I have no accusations,
no bitterness,
no words of regret…

Only this ache
that I cannot put into words.

And if I must leave,
let me leave quietly-
carrying your memories
where my heart will keep them
long after my lips have whispered…
