I want soft candlelight and deep conversations;
Paired with warm blankets as soft as our laughter,
In bed with you.
Your warmth would offset the cool spring breeze wafting in through the slightly ajar window;
Our voices lower than the tv and meant just for us in an empty room,
As if the words are so sacred even the walls aren’t allowed to hear them.
The smell of upcoming spring would mix with your soap in a way that would be intoxicating and anchoring all at once;
Blue and green eyes meeting in the same way the colors of the ocean collide-
And it’d be beautiful.
I want intertwined fingers and shared snacks over deep instilled thoughts on the world;
I once had a conversation with my dad about aliens and philosophy for an hour,
You’d match it.
In between the soft banter and witty jokes you’d somehow manage to further scratch the surface of me;
An inadvertent accomplishment that nobody else has ever made but you so-
I want soft candlelight and deep conversations;
Paired with warm blankets as soft as our laughter.
And I want you.
