My Fairytale Turned Into Horror Story

by Golden AnGel Rhapsodist   May 24, 2026

Once, I Believed in Love

Before, I believed that love
was the most powerful thing
soft as magic,
dusting hearts like fairy wings,

a story written in stardust
and happily-ever-afters.
I held it like a fairytale,
gentle, glowing, untouchable.

But time…

Time turned pages I never wished to read...

The magic faded,
the light grew dim,
and love
once warm
became something haunting....

Not a dream,
but a nightmare that learned my name,
that knew exactly where to hunt,

Even if it begged me to believe again,
It's so scary to trust.

Now it feels like a horror I lived through,
a story that lingers in the dark.

But even gentle memories
can carry shadows.

A film I survived…
but would never
watch again.

Hi! I really enjoyed reading your poetry. Your words create such strong emotions, but I felt they could become even more powerful with visuals.

I’m a freelance artist with 3 years of experience, and I can turn the feelings and imagery in your poems into illustrations so readers can actually see the words come to life. We could even start with one poem or a few stanzas as a small project.

I’d also love to share a few ideas on how visuals could help you reach a wider audience and create another way to benefit from your poetry.
