When everyone has given up

by Mild insomnia   Jul 26, 2004

I’d love to tell you it’ll be all right,
I’m fine, and I can sleep at night,
But I know I, could never lie,
To you.

It would be great to tell you I’ve moved on,
Yeah, it’s been tough, but I’ve been strong,
Still lying, it just seems so wrong,
With you.

And together, we can fall to pieces,
Deepening the fragile creases,
Breaking down and crying,
Inside, slowly dying.
And learning how it feels to love,
When everyone has given up,
Suddenly realising,
For what cause you’re fighting.

Is there anything that I can say?
To make this silence go away,
If I simply ask you to stay,
Would you?

And I’m crying here, down on my knees,
Begging you to love me please,
Cos to my heart, you hold the keys,
I need you.

And together, we can fall to pieces,
Deepening the fragile creases,
Breaking down and crying,
Inside, slowly dying.
And learning how it feels to love,
When everyone has given up,
Suddenly realising,
For what cause you’re fighting.

And I’m crying here, down on my knees,
Begging you to love me please,
Without you here, my world would freeze,
I need you.

And together, we can fall to pieces,
Deepening the fragile creases,
Breaking down and crying,
Inside, slowly dying.
And learning how it feels to love,
When everyone has given up,
Suddenly realising,
For what cause you’re fighting.
