Down on the Lake

by Kelly   Aug 12, 2004

I wore my black skirt,
And my eyes were glowing.
You were wearing no shirt,
And your smile was showing.

You skipped a few rocks,
And I walked through the sand.
I counted the docks,
Then you grabbed my hand.

You pulled me to the shore,
And I touched the water.
The sun shone more,
And the air became hotter.

I longed for your embrace,
And you suddenly leaned close.
I could feel my heart race.
And you touched my nose.

I looked into your eyes,
And you were all that I could see,
And you took me by surprise,
When you suddenly kissed me.

I will never forget,
This wonderful day that we had,
Down on the lake,
It definitely wasn’t at all bad.
