Corrupted Concept

I wish we could go back,
To when modern day players wore a throwback.
To when winning the game was all that mattered.
But now the whole concept has been battered.
All that players want now is their money.
But when you think about it is kind of funny.
Fans still watch the games with dedication.
Players don't want to represent the nation.
The Olympic team is filled up with rookies.
And the games are all fixed by the bookies.
And all that really matters are paper bills.
Rather than trophies on their window sills.
I have to say the league is disrupted.
And the game that we love is corrupted.
I wish nothing more than to go back.
