Fate

by Brad Champagne   Aug 20, 2004

In long years past, when love abounded,
All the world refused to see
That life is short. They were astounded
By the way we chose to be.

Life in this age lacks understanding
Of nature and better ways
To dodge, avert, the path we've bounded
Down in these most woeful days.

None here now care for what's yet to come
Or the fate of human will.
All their force went to creating some
New, more potent ways to kill.

As they await the unknown moment
To arrive and to unveil
The true and evil, none will lament
When arrives the violent hail.

Man has now sealed his own destruction
Through his fatal arrogance.
Mother Nature cares not 'bout this loss
And has ceased not ever since.
