Wisdom

by Sean Allen   Sep 14, 2004

They lay me down
on the polyester seat;
this was that fateful day.

I tried to smile,
they gave me an IV,
I fell asleep without delay.

When I awoke
my lips were all numb
and I realized with dismay

that this was not a checkup,
my mom had deceived me;
they took my wisdom teeth away.
