Broken Mirror

by Timothy   Sep 15, 2004

Drugs and alcohol, that's what I strive for,
Some days, I forget to eat;
Doing lines, gulping beer,
Most days the eyes of my reflection I can not meet.

I sent away my wife,
My children hate me;
All my friends have deserted me,
My parents and I do not agree.

My life is a broken mirror,
I see my image only in shards;
A fraction of a man,
With a heart and mind that's marred.

    While i do drink (sometimes too much) I don't do drugs anymore and haven't for a long time. I am down, but this poem doesn't really mean its about me.
