Scared to love again

The day you left me,
was the day I felt true pain,
in my eyes, starts to form
a different type of rain.

I utter ' I love you '
as I slowly look away,
I'm staring out my window,
can't stand another day.

I put you in front of the world,
I held you so high,
once again I see your face,
I let out a silent sigh.

You left a scar,
a scar that never heals,
you are everything I cannot have,
and you don't know how that feels.

Life just hurts me,
hurts me more than a knife,
for when I look into your eyes,
I see my entire life.

And now that you've decided
to walk out that door,
I've got nothing,
nothing to live for.

My eyes are getting sore
as I write down these words,
you are not here to wipe my tears,
you don't know how this hurts.

The pain hurts now
as much as it did then,
and because I lost a part of me,
I'm too scared to love again.
