Darkness

In the darkness i cannot see
i only know what i feel
i cant be fooled by what isn't real

i don't see the wound
i only know its broken
the pain still strikes
when those horrible words are spoken

Ive lived here for so long
you put me here
so cold inside
you took hold of my greatest fear

taking away the sunshine
everything good in my life is gone
i no longer know happiness
away from me its drawn

here i lay
heartless and cold
nothing to do but weep
my feelings and thoughts still untold

never again will i hold trust
for another like you
afraid to open my heart
to all of the damage he'd do
