Because of you

by !*!Zoe!*!   Oct 6, 2004

The crimson stains the floor,
Seeping from my wrists,
The towel soaked through,
My hands balled into fists.

The pain is unbearable,
As is the thought of you, too,
So I have decided
To blame it on you.

You wish that you hadn’t
Caused me this pain,
And you wish that you hadn’t
Left me in the rain.

Because now I am dying,
And it is your fault,
You are shivering and shaking
Just like an orphaned colt.

You deserve to feel bad,
After what you did,
You need to feel guilty,
That I will no longer live.

To tell you the truth,
I loved you a lot,
But it wasn’t enough,
In your web I was caught.

So the stories you spun,
The hate that you gave,
Have now made me,
Just a step from my grave.

I like how your poem can relate to a number of people, instead of it just being aimed at a typical boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Nice idea, sounds like you knew what you were writing about though, so I'm sorry if this is based on a true story. Nice job.
